Since 2010 the Lysebotn Up-hill race has been included in the BLINK festival and has been a huge success from the very beginning.This year 800 athletes will take part in this popular race! The great scenery and the “Tour de France” atmosphere make this race to an unforgettable memory!
The race is a mass start uphill in free technique and has a distance of 7.5 km. The athletes start on sea level and finish 640 meter above sea level.

Previous winners of this race have been Jean Marc Gaillard (2010), Martin Johnsrud Sundby (2011), Marit Bjørgen (2011), Maurice Manificat (2012), Terese Johaug (2012), Kaisa Makarainen (2013), Curdin Perl (2013), Elisabeth Stephen (2014), Maurice Manificat (2014), Heidi Weng (2015), Matti Heikkinen (2015), Therese Johaug (2016) and Matti Heikkinen (2016).
The best athletes from the Lysebotn Race are automatically qualified to start in the Mass start in Sandnes on Friday.

CROSS COUNTRY:

Classic race Gjesdal/Sandnes Wednesday:

- 60km.

Mass start The Lysebotn Up-hill race Thursday:

- Women and men 7,5 km
- 640 meter climb from the start to finish. The start is on sea level
- The race will be in free technique
- All athletes have to use helmet
- All round competition Friday:

Women 10 km:

- 10 laps / rounds 1000 meter
- Spurt prices 4th, 6nd, 8th, leg. Finish on 10th (first athlete to cross the finish line)
- Athletes who is caught with 1 leg will be lapped (taken out of the competition)
- Start list is based on FIS points

Men 15 km Friday:

- 15 laps / rounds 1000 meter
- Spurt prices 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, leg. Finish on 15th (first athlete to cross the finish line)
- Athletes who is caught with 1 leg will be lapped (taken out of the competition)
- Start list is based on FIS points

Sprint Saturday:

Women:

- Start list is based on FIS points
- Quarter finals and semifinals 1 round (1000) meter
- Final 2 rounds (1000 meter)

Men:

- Start list is based on FIS points
- Quarter finals, semifinals 1 round (1000) meter
- Final 2 rounds (1000 meter)


- All cross country races will be held in free technique
- All athletes have to bring their own helmet and use this in all races
- The organizer provides roller-skis



BIATHLON:

Mass start Women and Men Friday:

- 8 rounds x 1000 meter – 8 km, 4 shootings
- Shooting order: prone-prone-stand-stand
- Athletes who are caught with 1 leg will be lapped (taken out of the competition)
- There is a short penalty loop by the shooting range

Qualification race:
- 5 rounds x 1000 meter – 5 km, 2 shootings
- Shooting order: prone-stand
- There is a short penalty loop by the shooting range
- The best athletes are qualified for the Mass start

Supersprint Saturday:

Quarterfinal Women:

- 5 rounds x 1000 meter - 5 km, 4 shootings
- Shooting order: prone-prone-stand-stand
- There is a short penalty loop by the shooting range

Semifinal and final Women:

- 3 rounds 2 shootings
- Shooting order: prone-stand
- There is a short penalty loop by the shooting range

Quarterfinal Men:

- 5 rounds x 1000 meter - 5 km, 4 shootings
- Shooting order: prone-prone-stand-stand
- There is a short penalty loop by the shooting range

Semifinal Men:

- 3 rounds 2 shootings
